i can't type well with one hand, well ok, not with two, but reading danny's post, i wanted to add some.

i wasn't monitoring temp, except by hand and all cells seemed normal temps. these were dead shorted cells, but they started charge at normal voltage. i have been dead shorting for years and all seemed ok. these were new cells this fall. they were at 6.08v, and in "peak detect countdown". i had just felt them and was getting ready to set down to write numbers as it dsch'd. luckily i was slow in setting down.

in other words, everything was just like all ways. i had no indication of any trbl.

having seen two packs pop, this was nothing like a pop! it put a divot in my table! burnt carpet in spots 10ft away. there was nothing left but the neg end on the batt bar, and i found the pos end, that i am assuming went thru my thumb, 10ft away. the rest of the cell was just black powder that was everywhere!

thanks for your thoughts! be carefull!

denny
